Paying Off a Loan
When you can pay off
Allowed 90 days after the loan is initiated
Finding your payoff amount
You can find your loan payoff amount (principal and interest due) on the SMART plan website or by calling the Information Line at 1-888-401k-PLN (1-888-401-5756) and speaking with a customer service associate.
Payment method
Send a cashier's check, certified check or money order made payable to Voya and include
- your name
- your Social Security number (SSN) or last 4 digits of your SSN with your personnel number and
- a current telephone number where you can be reached for questions.

Payoff rejection reasons
Your payoff may be rejected if the payoff amount submitted is
- incorrect
- illegible
- incomplete or
- less than the amount due.
Overpayment
If you submit an amount more than your loan payoff, Voya will send you a check for the overage.
