Publix observes a moment of silence on Patriot Day

Sep. 11, 2019

It has been 18 years since one of the most tragic days in American history forever altered our country. On Dec. 18, 2001, Congress designated Sept. 11 of each year as Patriot Day. On this day, we honor the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives and pay tribute to all of those who so nobly aided their fellow citizens in America’s time of need.

President Trump has ordered the U.S. flag to be flown at half-staff until sunset today as a sign of respect to those who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

In addition, Publix will observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Eastern time to honor the innocent victims who perished as a result of the terrorist attacks that day.
