New regional directors named

With the upcoming retirement of Miami Division Regional Director Mike Meredith and promotion of Regional Director Kris Jonczyk to Atlanta Division Vice President, we congratulate District Manager Jamie Laviolette on his promotion to Miami Division regional director and District Manager Tom Sayers on his promotion to Atlanta Division regional director, effective Jan. 1, 2020.

“Please join me in congratulating Jamie and Tom on their promotions,” said President Kevin Murphy. “As our company continues to grow, we need associates who are ready to take the next step in their careers. Jamie and Tom are passionate leaders who believe in perpetuating the Publix culture and preparing our associates for tomorrow. I’m looking forward to seeing the impact they will make in their new roles.”

Jamie began his Publix career in 1990 as a front service clerk in Pembroke Pines, Florida. After working in a variety of positions in grocery, he was promoted to store manager in 2008 and to district manager in 2015. Jamie was also a recipient of the 2018 President’s Award.

Jamie and his wife, Hala, will be relocating to the Boca Raton/Deerfield Beach area with their son, Zachary, and daughter, Jenah.

In 1989, Tom joined Publix as a grocery clerk in Lauderhill, Florida. He worked in a variety of positions before being promoted to store manager in 2004 and to his current role in 2014.

Tom and his wife, Katrina, will be relocating to Huntsville, Alabama.
