Flags lowered to honor Justice John Paul Stevens

Justice John Paul Stevens was an American lawyer who served in the U.S. Supreme Court for 35 years until his retirement in 2010. He was the third-longest serving justice in the history of the court.

As a mark of respect for the memory and longstanding service of retired Justice John Paul Stevens, President Trump has ordered all U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff. Flags at Publix offices will be lowered to half-staff until sunset today, the day of his burial.
