Leaders named to new roles

Congratulations to 3 of our leaders on their upcoming new roles.

Effective Jan. 1, 2024, Charlotte Division Regional Director Charles Gainer will transfer to the purchasing department as business development director of health and beauty care and general merchandise. With his move, Jacksonville Division District Manager Kris Crapo will be promoted to regional director in the Charlotte Division.

To better serve our stores, the Lakeland Division is creating a 4th region. Lakeland Division District Manager Bryan Lanzilotta will be promoted to fill the newly created regional director position.

“These leaders are dedicated to Publix, our associates and our customers. They are focused on growing our culture and achieving operational excellence,” said President Kevin Murphy. “I'm excited to see them take the next step in their careers.”

Charles began his Publix career in 2000 as a front service clerk in Orlando, Florida. After working in a variety of positions, he was promoted to store manager in 2012, district manager in 2015 and to his current role in 2021. Charles was a recipient of the 2018 President’s Award. He will relocate to his new area with his wife, Brittany, and their 2 children.

Kris began his Publix career in 1993 as a front service clerk in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. After working in a variety of positions, he was promoted to store manager in 2012 and to his current role in 2015. He transferred as district manager from the Miami Division to the Jacksonville Division this year. Kris was a recipient of the 2022 President’s Award. He will relocate to his new area with his wife, Ashley, and their 2 children.

After working in a variety of positions, he was promoted to store manager in 2011 and to his current role in 2016. Bryan was a recipient of the 2019 President’s Award. He will relocate to his new area with his wife, Missy, and their 2 children.
