Publix commemorates Patriot Day
Sep. 11, 2022
On Sept. 11, 2001, nearly 3,000 lives were lost during the deadliest terrorist attacks in U.S. history. Each year on this day, known as Patriot Day, we honor and remember all victims, survivors and heroes of 9/11.
As a mark of solemn respect for all victims, their loved ones and the rescue personnel affected by the 9/11 tragedy, the U.S. flag is ordered to be flown at half-staff through sunset today, Sept. 11. Stores will observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Eastern time.
The U.S. flag was lowered Thursday in honor of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and will be at half-staff through the day of interment. Publix will continue to have flags at half-staff at all support locations.
