Fully vaccinated associates not required to wear face coverings

Feb. 13, 2022

As a result of the decrease in COVID-19 cases and wide availability of vaccines, we will no longer require fully vaccinated associates to wear face coverings beginning Feb. 14, 2022, unless required for their job duties or by a state or local order or ordinance. Pharmacy associates, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear face coverings while administering vaccines.

You can check what status Publix has on file for you on the Proof of Vaccination Status page.

Fully vaccinated associates

Face coverings are optional. You are still welcome to wear a face covering. If you’re fully vaccinated and want to stop wearing a face covering, you must provide proof of vaccination to your manager. If you’ve already submitted proof, you do not need to provide it again.

Fully vaccinated pharmacy associates are no longer required to wear face coverings while performing other duties.

Fully vaccinated definition
CDC guidance says someone is considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after receiving

  • their 2nd dose in a 2-dose series (like Pfizer or Moderna) or
  • a single dose vaccine (like Johnson & Johnson).

Information on PASSport and Publix Connection will be updated over the next week to align with this change.
