Flags lowered for Pearl Harbor Day

Dec. 07, 2022

Today, we remember the 2,403 lives lost at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, when the U.S. naval station was attacked in Oahu, Hawaii. The tragedy ultimately led to the U.S. declaring war on Japan and entering World War II.

Each year, Dec. 7 is recognized as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. As a mark of solemn respect for the lives lost at Pearl Harbor and all who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country during the 4 years we fought in World War II, President Biden has ordered all U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff through sunset today. Publix will fly flags at half-staff at all support locations.

We are grateful for all service members past and present, as well as their families, who continue to answer the call to protect and serve.
