Changes to insurance payroll deductions

2020 deductions

Deductions for health, dental, vision and long-term disability (LTD) insurance will not be taken from your pay issued today, Dec. 31, for coverage Dec. 19 – 25. This is because there were 53 pay issue dates in 2020, and those insurance premiums are based on 52 weeks of deductions. 

If you’re enrolled in the Supplemental Life Insurance Plan, your premiums were deducted from today’s pay for this week’s coverage.

2021 deductions

Insurance payroll deductions for 2021 will start with the pay issued Jan. 7, 2021, and be comprised as follows:  

Health, dental, vision and LTD insurance 

  • 6 days (Dec. 26 – 31) at the 2020 rates, if you currently have coverage, and
  • 1 day (Jan. 1) at the 2021 rates, if you’re enrolled for 2021.   

Supplemental life insurance 

  • 7 days at the 2021 rates, if you’re enrolled for 2021.      

Verify insurance deductions are correct
