Forbes names us one of America’s Best Employers for New Grads

May 26, 2021

We were ranked No. 59 out of 250 companies on Forbes’ 2021 list of America’s Best Employers For New Grads, and we ranked No. 5 out of 25 companies in the Retail and Wholesale industries category.

“Publix focuses on our core values and workplace culture,” said Director of Communications Maria Brous. “We strive to attract and retain top talent to grow our strong workforce of over 225,000 associates. With many diverse career paths, employee ownership and other company benefits, we welcome new grads to consider a career with Publix.”

Our graduate support

We offer learning/development opportunities to support new graduates and young professionals in order to help them succeed in their careers. Since 2007, we have hosted a summer internship program to combine the knowledge and skills students are learning in college with real-life work experience. We also have a strong promote-from-within philosophy and believe that investing in recent graduates helps build up the next generation of leaders.

Survey methodology

Over 20,000 U.S. young professionals — employees who have less than 10 years of work experience — were asked in an independent survey to assess their employers according to atmosphere and development, image, working conditions, salary and wage, workplace and diversity. They were also asked whether they would recommend their employer to others and then evaluated other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively. Participants work for companies that employ at least 1,000 people within the U.S.
