New parental leave benefit for mothers and fathers

Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, we’re offering paid parental leave for eligible full- and part-time associates to take time off with pay, consecutively or intermittently, within the first year after the birth or adoption of a child.

Paid time off for full-time associates

Full-time associates are eligible after reaching 1 year of employment. The amount of paid time off will be determined based on your years of service and whether you are hourly or salaried at the time of the birth or adoption.

1 to < 3 15 days (3 weeks)  80 hours (2 weeks)
3 to < 5 30 days (6 weeks)  160 hours (4 weeks)
5+ 30 days (6 weeks)  240 hours (6 weeks)

Paid time off for part-time associates

Part-time associates are eligible after reaching

  • 1 year of employment and
  • at least 1,250 hours in the 52 weeks leading up to the birth or adoption date.

The amount of paid time off will be determined based on your years of service and your average hours in the 52 weeks leading up to the birth or adoption date.

How it’s paid

When you use parental leave, you’ll be paid as follows:

  • Full-time associates: 60% of your pay rate
  • Part-time associates: 50% of your pay rate

Additional details on PASSport

Beginning Jan. 1, 2022, you will be able to visit a new Parental Leave Pay page on PASSport where you can estimate your paid time off and submit for this benefit when you’re eligible. You are only able to submit for 1 qualifying event (birth or adoption) per rolling 12 months.
