Publix announces 2nd Kentucky location

Today, we announced we have signed a lease for a 2nd store in Kentucky. Like the 1st Kentucky store, this location will be in Louisville, located at the northeast corner of Ballardsville Road and Brownsboro Road in Jefferson County. The Publix will feature a 55,701-square-foot Publix supermarket, including a drive-thru Publix Pharmacy and an adjacent 2,800-square-foot Publix Liquors offering beer, wine and spirits. 

The store is anticipated to open in the 1st quarter of 2024; a grand opening date has not yet been determined. 

CEO Todd Jones spoke on our continued growth into the Commonwealth of Kentucky. 

“We are proud to be planting roots in Jefferson County and look forward to building lifelong relationships with our new customers,” he said. “With 2 planned stores currently in development, we are excited to continue sharing our Publix culture and commitment to service with the Bluegrass State.”

As we announced in September, this marks our 8th state of operation.
