325 Florida Publix pharmacies to receive COVID-19

Starting Feb. 3, Publix Pharmacy will once again open appointments for eligible individuals to receive the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at select Florida locations. The announcement comes in collaboration with the state of Florida and includes the addition of Nassau, Pasco and Pinellas counties to the list of Florida Publix pharmacies administering the vaccine, bringing the total number to 325 in 23 counties. 

“We understand how many people in our communities want to receive this critical vaccine, and it is our privilege to administer doses to the residents of Florida,” said CEO Todd Jones. “With each distribution, we remain grateful for the role we are able to play in helping protect the health and safety of as many people in our communities as possible.”

Eligibility

In accordance with the state’s guidelines, vaccinations are currently being provided to individuals ages 65 and older. The state of Florida requires individuals receiving their first vaccine dose to provide proof of residency meeting certain criteria.

Appointments

Vaccinations are provided by appointment only, while supplies last, through the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine. Appointments cannot be made by calling Publix or the Publix Pharmacy. The system will be open on 2 days for appointment times as follows:

* Due to the volume of prescheduled appointments, 22 stores in Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties will only administer the vaccine to patients who are returning for their prescheduled appointments to receive their second dose Feb. 4 – 7. Locations in The Villages will have available appointments for first doses of the vaccine Feb. 4 – 7.

Publix Pharmacy will administer the vaccine in the following counties, while supplies last: Bay, Brevard, Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, Escambia, Flagler, Hernando, Indian River, Lee, Marion, Martin, Monroe, Nassau, Okaloosa, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Santa Rosa, Volusia and Walton. Customers can also use the online reservation system to learn if appointments are available at their nearby store. 

Publix pharmacies have also administered the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible individuals in select Georgia and South Carolina locations. We will continue to communicate with the states in our operating area to provide COVID-19 vaccinations as part of their distribution efforts.

Cost and insurance

Vaccinations are administered to eligible individuals, by appointment only, while supplies last, and at no cost to the individual. Customers with health insurance will need to bring their insurance card to their scheduled appointment. Medicare members should bring their red, white and blue Medicare Part B card. Customers without health insurance will need to provide their driver’s license or Social Security number.
