Publix commemorates Peace Officers Memorial Day
May 15, 2020
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy declared May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day. Annually, we honor local, state and federal officers who have lost their lives or become disabled in the line of duty.
To commemorate this day, which falls during Police Week, President Trump has ordered all U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff. In honor of the thousands of men and women who have given selflessly, including some who paid the ultimate price, Publix will fly all flags at half-staff.
At Publix, we are grateful for our courageous law enforcement officers and appreciate all they do to protect our communities each and every day.
