$1 million to be donated to Urban League affiliates

Publix will make a $1 million contribution to Urban League affiliates across the Southeast as we continue our long-standing support of the organization’s efforts on civil rights.

“As we continue to find ways to bring communities together, it’s evident that Publix’s support and compassion are required on an even deeper level,” said CEO Todd Jones. “We believe it’s important to further our long-standing commitment to the Urban League and their vision to have a world with no equality gaps.”

Prior to making this donation, Todd issued a letter to Publix associates addressing the events happening in our communities and our country.

“Now, more than ever, is the time for us to listen with open hearts and to lead with empathy — toward each other, toward our customers and toward our communities.”

The Urban League is a historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization with 90 affiliates serving 300 communities, providing direct services that impact and improve the lives of millions nationwide.
