Don't work while sick

April 08, 2020

Publix wants you to remain healthy, and we continue to actively monitor the coronavirus as well as remain in close contact with federal and state health officials.

All associates are reminded of the importance of our health policies, proper hand-washing and good personal health and hygiene.

As a reminder, staying away from work while you’re sick aligns with our value of treating others with dignity and respect. In a time of public health crisis, we must trust everyone is doing their part to uphold the values from our founder, Mr. George.

If you have any of the symptoms of the coronavirus, including fever, cough and/or difficulty breathing, you should stay home and return to work once you’ve been symptom-free for at least 72 hours, in the absence of taking any fever-reducing medications like Tylenol and ibuprofen. If you have questions, please talk with your manager.
